Holiday Rush!

Hello All! 

It’s that time of year where everyone gets into the holiday rush of shopping. This year has obviously been very different for many of us, myself included, but I am taking it all in. Although I don’t have many people to shop for this year, I still procrastinate and wait till the last minute to get gifts. However, this year I have a legitimate excuse. I’ve been trying to kick off this website and business, with my own setbacks of course (like starting a new full-time job unplanned), but I knew it was important to be part of this holiday season and managed to get myself out there and fulfill requests and orders and have been able to get my name noticed. It’s the perfect time of year to start getting out there as many people are shopping now for that special item and the chances of my business name coming up are greater than it would be in August. There are no craft shows or events to set up a booth at and the virtual route for that isn’t quite the same. With this holiday being the busiest time of year for orders and this being my first year of actually selling items, I am extremely thankful to be able to be part of it even though I’ve struggled to accomplish all the other things that I was hoping to have had fall into place by now that haven’t. I am still able to make items which is my ultimate goal without overloading myself and knowing when to cut off orders so I don’t get stuck cramming in late nights to get orders completed on time. I really do love being able to create and provide handmade gifts (and receive them too). It is a one of a kind unique item and should last a lifetime.

Lucky for me, I had joined a local group on Facebook with so many other people supporting small local businesses and it has been amazing to see a community come together and support one another. Being able to put a random request out there and have so many people provide suggestions is so great to see. What’s even greater is when someone suggests me! Thank you so much to those who have supported me and recommended me as well. I have also found some truly artistic and creative people locally and will be reaching out to them throughout the year for other gifts that I will be looking for. I have already supported a few locals with orders and if time permits, I just might have a couple more in the next couple days if I can find someone with availability still !! 

Well, break is over, back to the orders and other household duties that have been calling. It’s late, but that seems to be the norm these days and I’m ok with it.
